Open NVIDIA Control Panel → Manage 3D settings → Global Settings (or Program Settings for one game).
Before you tweak: back up your files and create a system restore point (search "Create a restore point" in Windows). Results vary by hardware and game.
Step by step
- Power management mode: Prefer maximum performance.
- Low Latency Mode: On or Ultra (in games with NVIDIA Reflex, use Reflex instead).
- Texture filtering - Quality: High performance.
- Vertical sync: Off (or use G-Sync with a frame cap).
- Max Frame Rate: a few FPS below your refresh rate if you use G-Sync.
- Shader Cache Size: Driver Default, to reduce stutter from shader compilation.
